Twelve AM and the feast is gone
it's been stored away for tomorrow.
Time for sleep
but my eyes are drawn to the midnight sky,
and I pray for dawn to come.
I Don't know why I cannot find the rest.
Morning will come and I will find I have been blessed.
Bright colored packages beneath the tree
I can see the scene of a Christmas dream.
but it seems it should mean so much more to me.

Upon the mantle is manger scene.
Passed it many times, what a sweet little baby
Remembered how that baby grew to be such a perfect man
and the Savior for you and me.
I don't know why I stayed away so long
Such a surprise to find His love could be so strong.
This selfish shell can finally find the peace
find release, the wonders never cease
since He gave His Christmas presence to me.

When I find this time of year has passed
I wanna seek you Lord, even tomorrow.
Seasons change and the feelings fade
but I hope in You, 'cause I know You're here to stay
Though tides have turned and leaves have blown away
Your love for me is not a thing of yesterday
It can't be captured in a manger scene,
gifts beneath the tree, or a Christmas dream
Your love is best expressed by Your presence here in me.
